reChain – Terms of Use

1. Overview

These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern access to the reChain offshore assistance service and its companion applications operated by JCskipper SAS (“JCskipper”, “we”, “us”). They apply to all users of the reChain service and reChain Grib mobile apps on iOS and Android, whether you use the freemium tier or purchase a Premium plan. By installing, accessing, or using reChain you confirm that you accept these Terms and agree to comply with them.

2. Service Tiers & Features

reChain provides marine weather forecasts GRIB fiels and AI assistance that bridge your Garmin inReach device with our cloud services. The freemium tier allows limited GRIB requests and message relays as described inside the apps. reChain Premium unlocks higher or unlimited usage caps, priority processing, and any other benefits presented at the time of purchase. We may add, remove, or modify features over time to improve the service.

3. Billing & Renewal

Premium access is offered as an auto-renewing monthly plan. Pricing is displayed in the app or checkout flow in your local currency before purchase. Depending on your platform, billing is handled by:

• Apple In‑App Purchase: Payment is charged to your Apple ID account when you confirm the purchase on iOS. The plan renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel via Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions. Apple’s refund rules apply.
• Stripe: Purchases made via our web checkout are processed by Stripe on our behalf. Stripe stores your payment method and bills you each renewal period unless you cancel through the reChain account portal or by contacting support before the renewal date. Refunds follow Stripe’s and local consumer protection policies.

Taxes may apply depending on your billing country. We may adjust pricing and will communicate changes in-app and on this page before they take effect.

4. Activation & Pairing

After creating an account or subscribing you receive an activation code that links your Garmin inReach device to the reChain service. Sending this code from your inReach to the designated reChain address pairs the device and unlocks the usage allowances tied to your tier. Treat the code as confidential and do not share it outside your vessel or crew.

5. Requirements & Acceptable Use

• You must own or control a Garmin inReach device with an active satellite messaging plan and a compatible iOS or Android device to run the app.
• Use the service solely for lawful offshore assistance purposes. Do not rely on it for emergency calls, transmit abusive content, or attempt to disrupt the platform.
• You are responsible for safeguarding your Apple ID, and Stripe account credentials as well as any activation codes issued to you.

6. Service Availability

We strive to keep the service available at all times but occasional interruptions may occur (for maintenance, connectivity, or third-party outages). We are not liable for losses caused by downtime, transmission delays, or inaccurate data sourced from third parties such as Saildocs.

7. Termination

We may suspend or terminate access without refund if you breach these Terms, misuse the service, or attempt to circumvent subscription requirements. You may end Premium at any time through Apple’s subscription settings or the Stripe billing portal; service remains active until the end of the paid period, and freemium access may remain available afterward.

8. Changes

We may update these Terms or adjust pricing in the future. Any changes will be communicated in-app and on this page. Continued use after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
