reChain – Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

reChain is operated by JCskipper SAS (“JCskipper”, “we”, “us”). This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information when you use the reChain Grib apps on iOS or Android, access the freemium features, subscribe to reChain Premium, or otherwise interact with our offshore assistance platform.

2. Data We Collect

• Account & contact data: email address, activation code and Garmin inReach identifier for pairing and support.
• Device data: anonymous diagnostic logs and crash reports from the iOS and Android apps to help keep them reliable.
• Subscription data: product identifiers, transaction IDs, and subscription status supplied by Apple or Stripe so we can confirm your Premium entitlement.
• Location: when you use the Requester view, the app reads your current location locally to center the GRIB map. Location is not uploaded to our servers.
• Support messages: emails you send to our support inbox.

Payment information is processed by Apple or Stripe. We never receive your full card details; Stripe only provides us with payment tokens, the last four digits of your card, and billing country for compliance.

3. How We Use Data

• To activate and maintain your freemium or Premium entitlement.
• To generate and validate the inReach activation code that links your satellite device.
• To deliver GRIB files and AI answers in response to your inReach messages.
• To process payments, renewals, and cancellations handled by Apple or Stripe.
• To troubleshoot issues, improve performance, and protect against fraud or abuse.
• To communicate with you about updates, outages, or support requests.

4. Sharing & Transfers

We do not sell your personal data. Information is shared only with service providers that help us operate the platform (such as secure cloud hosting), process payments (Apple, Stripe), or analyze diagnostics. These providers are bound by confidentiality obligations and only receive the minimum data necessary. We may disclose data when required by law or to enforce our Terms of Use.

5. Data Retention

Account records, freemium usage history, and activation codes are retained for as long as your account remains active and for a limited period afterward to comply with legal obligations. Diagnostic logs are kept for up to 12 months. You can request deletion of activation and subscription data once your account has ended.

6. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and monitoring to safeguard the limited data we store. However, no method of transmission over the internet or satellite network is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on the request.

8. Children

reChain is intended for adults operating marine equipment. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us so we can delete it.

9. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. The latest version is always available at this URL, and material changes are announced inside the app.
